Hya. Thanks for letting me join. I have just bought a RX10 M4. Been playing with it as you do. When in automatic mode and trying to photograph say a bird in a bush. The camera always seems to focus on the first object it sees. So if there is a small branch sticking up in front of the bird it will focus on that and not the bird. Do I need to go into manual or am i doing something wrong.
Also in the same automatic mode i am getting peaking. Which is a sign of over exposure. Surly I should not get this in automatic or again am i doing something wrong. Thanks in advance.
There are several ways to tackle your problem.
Here is a page from the help guide, here is a Youtube video and there is Google of course.
The link to the manual is here.
Best to start with is DMF mode. The camera suggests and you can interfere.
Your secret entry to all kinds of settings is the Fn button on the back.
Try it both in A and in P mode.
Did you know that the P stands for 'Pleasant'?
Enjoy your camera!
Thanks. I will look at that.
