Some of the selected media files will not be written to the disc because they are in the file formats that are not supported

I have installed PMB vers 4 ( windows xp sp3) to handle my movies and stills  from Sony HD HDR-XR520 and it worked fine so I could put my movies and stills on DVD and BD. After installation it takes me through updating to version 5.3 and once done it does not recognise my stills when I am trying to put them on DVD even that I can see them clearly in PMB. I have tried everything , deinstalled my web cam, my TV , reinstall but same result : "Some of the selected media files will not be written to the disc because they are in the file formats that are not supported"
