I have the latest firmware 3.395 and after some weeks of use the wifi has dropped and a scan for networks does not find any. However, my wifi is working ok on a tablet if I place it near the tv so the signal is not the issue. This suggests the Sony software is not working properly for wifi. I also have a remote touchpad which has lost connection at the same time.
Should I do a restart or intial setup again ?

Yes, by all mean do a factory reset, as it can fix many issues. However others are also reporting network connectivity issues too.
