Has anyone else seen this? I just turned the TV on and in the featured apps panel there is a new icon called TV software update.
It loads a url but it's just a Sony 404 page
I bit the bullet and did the update using USB as update not available OTA at present time.
Installed OK in 30 minutes.
The app "TV Software Update" app icon is still there however 😞
Have you had this 'Marshmallow' update yet?
If so what revision of software is it?
My version is PKG3.533.0108EUB. I may have it but nothing specific jumps out. The only real difference I can see is the home screen background is all black.
I do not use You View as when I have tried a few times in the past I loose the ability to tune in to 'FreeSat' channels. The icon when opened from the home screen shows the 'Opera' browser and amongst the text explains that the channels will be catagorised by 'Genre'. Mine looks the same on 'FreeSat' and 'FreeView' as it did before, hence the enquiry.
Any idea what is Marshmallow?
Marshmallow refers to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Marshmallow
The version is 6.0.1
I hesitated but having used it for a week, I would not hesitate again. However, I still have the blinky app telling me to upgrade!
And now I have just seen the upgrade is on hold

Thank you.
I do not have the 'blinky app', just an info icon on the home page. When I check for software updates, it tells me I am up to date. So I guess its not been made active in my area yet.
It appears Sony pulled the upgrade on Wednesday

Thank you. That explains it.
Of last few years Sony have been showing a distinct lack of software expertise. Another product of theirs I use has been sold off to a German company last year. The product had had no development prior to that for over three years.
We will just have to wait for this sweetener to pan out.
