Turn off Automatic Trailers?

When my KD-55XG9505 has no signal, it starts to play trailers for high rated films with rental prices displayed? At a high volume and very vivid colour. Where does this come from? How do I turn it off? Who is sending it to me?

I can stop it by turning off built-in WiFi but then I will miss all the automatic updates. Though that seems a good way to reduce unwanted data use. 
(I usually use an ATV4K box. When I turn it off, in spite of CEC being enabled, the TV won’t turn off but adds insult to injury by blaring these trailers.)

Hi Pat,

If you try the following steps it should resolve the issue for you: 

HOME > Settings > Apps > Google Play Movies & TV

1. Click Force Stop
2. Click Clear Cache
3. Click Clear Data
4. Click Disable
