sony kd 49x8309c problem please help

I purchased a Sony Cd 49X8309C yesterday and after bringing it home and setting it up it asked for a update so i did. Since updating it is only showing what i think is power cord smoking with a prohibited sign over it with a round blue arrow next to it turning. My tv now does nothing accept show this sign. any ideas please? also i only received one remote is this right as i was told different in store?

This is the update screen it is downloading new soft wear leave it on and it can take up to 60mins to down load and update.
