Hi @Mowbotman. You cannot really compare a 2011 TV with a 2018 TV. Technology has moved on. I bought a 46HX923 in 2011 and replaced it with a 55XE9305 in 2017. The 46HX923 was “top of the range” in 2011. Now-a-days you cannot buy a “top of the range” TV in such a small size. You would probably have to go for a 49 inch screen TV mid-range TV, the best being XF90 if you are sticking to LED. The smallest OLED is 55 inch. Note 3D is now no longer supported.
Hi Mowbotman!
Welcome to the Sony Community! I like your question, so you are in for a new TV I see 🙂
Good time to jump in for fun. My opinion in answering your question is actually the XF90. Sony has mastered the technology of LCD TV's to perfection in all these past years since the iconic HX and NX series. So I think if you liked the HX900 series, you will most probably like also the new XF90 series.
Just make sure that you hookup a good surround sound receiver with spreakers and a good HTPC with HDCP 2.2 on Intel 7th or 8th generation processors. These support proper 4K + HDR output and pass flawlessly all the requirements.
Cheers,
Dutchice
