Hi
I’ve had my XR42A90K for just over three years and was very happy with it until a couple of months ago.
In November I started noticing the OLED Achilles heel that is ‘near black chrominance overshoot’
becoming more noticeable in almost all TV broadcasts and especially in dramas and film that look as if they are illuminated with a cigarette lighter.
People or objects moving in the shadows have a very visible white halo or tide mark as they move from one dark shade to another.
Have reset all picture settings and turned off any extraneous picture processing like noise reduction
and still no real improvement.
Have done a manual calibration, restarted, power cycled with no improvement, software is up to date.
Don’t understand why this has become an issue in these past few weeks, prior to this I was never bothered by this phenomena to this extent.
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue more regularly as the panel ages or if you have any advice on minimising its intrusion on the viewing experience.
Thanks
