KD-55XD9305 long time taken to connect to wifi/internet after power on

My Sony KD-55XD9305 takes a minute or so to connect to the wifi/internet when it is powered on. this means if you try to access something like Netflix after power on, it gives a connection error. One then needs to wait for 60-120 seconds for the TV to connect to the wifi/internet to try again. My laptop connects instantly to the same wifi/internet. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you tried clearing the cached data and then soft reset the TV?

Could you let me know how to clear the cache please? I have soft reset a number of times (seems to be required every couple of days).

It's done by pressing Home - Settings - Storage & Reset - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data - OK/center button, if I remember correctly.
