Hi all,
On the above TV native iPlayer app something really annoying is happening and is more obvious with the live 4K streams of the world cup. When you use the native app it sets the display area to Normal and won't let you change this to +1, therefore eliminating overscan, otherwise, something looks off, and you can tell it's not correctly formatting the image.
Here are some observations, if you use the cast function of iPlayer from your phone, and send the very same content it plays with the display area correctly set to +1 and no overscan! great! the problem it is not the UHD version! ugh! very frustrating!!!!
This appears to be the same for ITV app, C4 also, every app is setting itself to Normal and not allowing the full image to appear.
Is this a Sony bug or there implementation of TV apps vis Sony select.
Just want to add, I sideloaded a APK of iPlayer, I think its meant for phones, however I can report it correctly set itself to +1 for display area, so clearly its got to be the native app that's the issue.
Reading many TV forums I am not the first to notice this, BTW all other streaming apps Amazon Prime, Disney, Netflix also correctly set themselves to +1 display area, so no overscan on 4K UHD content.
Can Sony please advise and acknowledge this bug?

Hi @Harvy2020
I would try Sony Support Consumer Electronics I'm afraid that you wont get any sort of acknowledgement on this public community. It is basically a customer helps customer community, not Sony customer services.
If you have time, please come back and let us know how you get on.
