Been using this TV about a month - Sky Box HD into HDMI 1. Suddenly its started doing this:
Selecting channel in sky menu and press select on Sky remote - the picture in picture appears fine. Press select again to go into full screen mode. It then goes black with the info display at the top (HDMI1/Stereo 1080i - HH:MM) which is normal for a few seconds. Except now it stays black indefinitely - the sound comes on but no picture. To remedy i have to go to the input selector, select another input (HDMI2 Xbox) then flick back to HDMI 1. Now I get the picture back!
What on earth is this sudden nuisance??
EDIT...... just discovered this happens on the switch between HD and SD channels and vide versa. Flicking between any HD channel transitions fine. Same flicking between any SD channels. If say, i flick between BBC 1 HD and BBC 1 SD, this is when it happens!
EDIT 2.... When i remedy this the info bar is also still permanently stuck top screen until I press the remote i (info) button. For some reason the clock (top right) is stuck at (currently) 22:16!! The TV clock in the home menu remains correct...
Hi there,
Can you let us know the model number of your TV please?
Thanks,
Ed
Hi @richiejazz
I don’t know if it will help, but you could try turning off the Info Banner or if you can put up with a reduced audio experience then change the Sky box audio to “Normal” or “PCM”.
Home -> Settings -> Channel setup -> Info banner -> Off.

not really sure how either of those applies to the problem.......?

Hi @richiejazz
The Info banner appears when the Sky audio format chances. For example if you change from a SD channel to another SD channel the audio remains the same so the Info banner doesn’t appear. The same applies to HD channel to HD channel. However if you chance from SD (PCM) to HD (DD) then the audio format changes so the Info banner appears. Now if you change the Sky audio to Normal or PCM then changing from SD (PCM) to HD (PCM) then the audio doesn’t change so no Info banner.
The other was just a speculative change, what happens if you turn off the Info banner completely?
Sorry I don’t know how we ended up with a strange format. Additionally if everything used to work OK then I would try a factory reset.

Ah I see, thanks for clarifying - its worth ruling that one out at least.
I was trying to avoid a reset so I dont lose all my settings!
Since this morning this problem has actually fixed itself!! The only thing I've done in the meantime is upgraded an optical cable on my soundbar to a longer one! To get to it I turned off the TV and removed the power lead. Maybe removing the power did something? Maybe a coicidence??
Either way its back working ok...... for now!
Hi @richiejazz
If it happens again then it is always worth trying a quick soft reset (equivalent to power off and on). Hold down the remote power button until Power off appears on the screen.
Also check that all cables are securely seated.
Glad you are sorted for now ...
Will do thanks!
Just to clarify - does the soft reset actually wipe any custom settings??
