Hi all,
Recently installed the latest update on my new Bravia (loving the TV) and enabled eARC (direct to a Yamaha RX-V6A) and now I find that sometimes when I turn the TV on there's no sound output.
I can "fix" the issue (for that session) by swapping the audio output from PCM to Auto 1 and back to PCM again.
Reporting in case others are experiencing this issue.
Yeah, I have this issue as well. eARC signal also cuts out when watching anything from internal apps after 30 minutes or so. HDMI-inputs seems to be unaffected. If I leave eARC over night I need to reboot both TV and Soundbar to get sound from anywhere again. So the TV is definitely doing something what it's not supposed to when it's on standby mode (I can see it turning my soundbar on and off sometimes) and when used on internal sources. Besides these serious issues I love the TV. Regular ARC is working pretty good most of the time but then there will be issues with lip sync of course. I hope Sony is looking into this for a future firmware patch.
I have this issue too. Xh90 connected to Ht-G700 sound bar.
For me doesn't happen so often. Sometimes especially in YouTube.
I fix this buy switch audio to TV and then switch back to audio system again.
Yes i also have the same issue. My XH9005 is connected to a Sony STR-DH 770.
These two are connected via Bravia Sync and after the update the Reciever turns on when the TV is switched on, but no sound through the ARC channel...
If someone has a solution please let me know.
I hope they fix this pretty soon!
I've seen other users reporting that uninstalling the TuneIn Radio app helps with this, and if that's already done, switching off eARC helps too.
I've also seen mention that Sony is already working on a patch for this as in a separate thread. So it's only a matter of time now.

Same/similar issues with my KD-43XH8505 linked to a Pioneer VSX-S520D AV receiver.
Having to reboot TV periodically in order to get sound back on AVR via ARC
Hi kdhuk66,
Have you tried any of the steps shared on this thread yet?

Some.... eARC is off... AVR is is not compatible with eARC.
Uninstalled Tune In. First thing I usually notice is that
the ability to control the AVR volume with the TV remote is lost but the sound continues... This always seems to be when streaming on an app or after switching back to Freeview. Eventually the TV reports a communication error with the Audio system and the sound fails on the AVR.
It's always OK using a Humax Freesat DVR (FoxSat HDR... Too old to have HDMI /CEC so not the documented problem with Humax DVR??? ) connected to TV via HDMI.
AVR worked absolutely fine previously with a
2010 Bravia.
Having to reboot TV in order to solve problem each time... Although switching to PCM rather than DD+ output can help occasionally...
... A little more information after about 10 days of using the new TV.... The ability to use the TV remote to control the AVR volume seems to be lost after a variable period of time while using apps and the built in Chromecast. The sound is not completely lost (usually) and I can still use the AVR remote to control the volume. When I restart the TV and AVR I get no sound at all and can only get it back by rebooting the TV. (I can't remember this happening using the inbuilt digital tuner... so far... )
Hi kdhuk66,
Try switching the HDMI signal format around (select Enhanced if it is on Standard and vice-versa).
