The above feature does not sync correctly, if at all, with my sky+ hd box & my tv. The only result of many attempts to get this to work (despite also trying to disable it, because it will not allow itself to be enabled properly, nor disabled either), is the pemanent disabling of the sky tv remote volume buttons & the temporary or random disabling of other buttons on the same sky tv remote, including temporarily changing the original function of some of these buttons to some 'other' - possibly random - function, that MAY be a 'normal function' of some button(s) on the Sony Bravia remote! The Sony Bravia remote does NOT 'take over' these functions that I had expected Bravia Sync to perform, ESPECIALLY that it does NOT take over the 'switching ON &OFF the sky+ hd box at the SAME TIME as the tv' ie 'in sync', which is supposed to be one of the 'most important' functions. As a result I fail to see the point of this feature, at all. Has anybody with a sky+ hd box connected via hdmi to a Sony Bravia kd43xe8396 4k UHD tv had the same issue? ie it also does NOT work on their Bravia TV?, Did you resolve it? If yes, how? If no, then good luck, & please post any resolution (that works), if or when you find one. Also would or should a 'hard reset' to 'factory settings', fix the issue (even if only temporarily), since a 'soft reset' has not? thanks, Bob
I have found out that the most immediate way to solve (sometime) the HDMI/USB issues is to unplug the TV's power supply for few seconds and then plug it again. A simple soft reboot doesn't always seem to fix them.
Otherwise, yes. You should give a try to a TV factory reset. I must say that after the last Android TV update (October 25) the HDMI/Bravia Sync improved quite a bit in my XD80. But it still breaks once in a while. Like yesterday I turned on my PS4, the TV switched on to HDMI ARC, it showed the PS4 in the banner, the AVR was On with the PS4 selected as input but I had a black screen with no signal. Only after manually selecting the PS4 from the AVR it fixed it.

Hi @Tufftybob. Having used Sky with a Bravia TV for the last 30 years I don’t really understand what you are saying.
1. You should be using the Sky Remote and not the TV Remote to control Sky. Pair the Sky Remote to your TV.
2. You should expect Bravia Sync to switch a sound bar or AV system on or off in sync with the TV.
3. When you switch on compatible devices via HDMI it also switches on the TV and changes it to the correct input.
4. When you switch off a compatible device connected via HDMI I wouldn’t expect it to switch off the TV.
5. So with Sky you press the Sky power on button which in turn auto turns on the TV and changes input to HDMI x and then auto turns on a sound bar connected to the ARC HDMI.
6. To turn things off requires two presses. Using the Sky Remote, first power off Sky using the Sky power off button followed by pressing the TV power button on the Sky Remote. This also auto turns off the sound bar.
7. I wouldn’t expect a non-Sony device to be controlled by “Control selected device”.
Or have I completely misunderstood your question?
Having been through every Sky box since they were introduced and 5 Sony Bravia TVs, I currently have Sky Q 2TB with a KD55XE9305 (2160p) and HT-AS5 connected by ARC.
