After update to Nougat no longer possible to install apk with file manager

Since the update to Nougat on my XD93, I can't install an apk file anymore with a file manager like Xplorer. Does anyone else have this problem too?

I did enable unknown sources for apps. Just to be complete I enabled developer options and ran abd commands to uninstall some apps like samba. Maybe that could influence this behaviour?

Yes, same problem here. Using ADB tool on PC and `adb install` command to sideload apps. That works.
