No Support for Windows XP users and PMB problems.

Hi All

If you are running a PC with Windows XP Home and you do a re-installation then SONY will NOT support any problems you might have with the video player.

After installing the PMB software on my PC, (so not an original installation) PMB player worked.

I then had to re-install XP Home and PMB software installed and worked OK except the video player which wouldn't display anything at all.

I rang Tech Support and was told that they only support a system with an ORIGINAL XP installation and NOT a re-installation. This has to be a joke, right? Who has an original installation now?????

I told the Tech guy that it had worked before but he was very adamant and would not support my problem.

So, now I can't play any of the videos that I have made since buying my A33.

Was I told on puchase that XP Home wasn't supported - no.

If there is a Sony Mediator reading this then I am very very p+++ed of with your company and would certainly NOT buy anything related to Sony again.

Hope lots of people read this before you too get into the same situation.

Hi gimp69

Appreciate your reply.

Have tried VLC, FLV and a couple of others and all are the same. There is too much data in AVCHD to play smoothly.

Now a friend has advised me to find a video converter to MPEG or MP4 and this is my next little task. Something to change to format.

Meanwhile have changed the camera recording format to MP4. I can live with the slightly lower quality.
