Eye tracking work for video through the viewfinder?

I seem to be only able to operate eye tracking when shooting video with my Sony A74 and my 200-600mm Sony lens using the monitor touch screen. When I switch to the view finder it does not work. Does eye tracking only work with the monitor on the A74?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Have you assigned eye-af to a custom button?

@Bonxie I didn't find any information on the opposite, i.e. Tracking only via Monitor, which is why I thought of the Settings.
