Did Sony officially announce 3 years of OS updates?

As far as I know there has never been any statement about update policy.

Experience from the past learns us that there are 2 years of system and security updates, flag ships a bit longer than low end devices.

there have been rumours last month or so about them going to offer 3 years of updates, but so far I haven't been able to find any official confirmation.
