Sony Xperia 5 iii - plötzlich Probleme mit Fingerabdrucksensor

Hi Community, 

actually i have a problem with  my Xperia 5 iii (about 1 3/4 years old) 

My fingerprint sensor does not work after a while. => Message: clean sensor. 

Cleaning does not work; but after a Hard-reset of the Phone it will work for a while; 

also after shutting down the phone for a few hours and start again. 

Could this be software prolem or maybe a hardware problem ?
