Why not have regular icon shapes?

Instead of being in some sort of bubble.

The orginal is just all circles with slight exceptions. Rather than per company's orginal shape. The human brain sees shapes not colors in uniformed circles. 

Here is what "default" is. It's way too bubbly. I didn't buy a Sony phone to be a Circa 2010 Samsung.

I understand it's more Google's doing, more than Sony's. But com'mon! Square shaped icons like Microsoft's failed OS! See how tiny PUBG icon is!
