Can't change tracks in the car via Bluetooth when using Spotify

Does anyone have the same issue with connecting there spotify and being able to use there car control to change the tracks via Bluetooth ? 

Is this a sony thing? As my sisters Samsung works

I can change tracks but not change artists or albums

Using Hey Google might be a way out.
