Xperia 1 ii issue with Android Auto

Hi

My new Xperia 1 ii connects to my new car (Kia) and starts Android Auto OK. After two minutes or so it stops working and I get a message saying USB device not responding. I've tried the FAQ from app developer but still not working. Anyone else have this issue and/or suggestions on a fix?
