Split mode and running two apps at the same time

When I enter into split screen, there is only one app is running. I need tap the screen, another app will run. However, at the same time, another is stopped. Is there any setting I missed? Thanks

Slide up the right side of the screen, split mode starts, pick for example, chrome, and then pick youtube..and both run together.

There are some pre-sets, but you can also click choose more apps, from all the ones you have installed.

Buy depending on app version or type, some can't run in split mode.
