RDR-HXD870 not recording.

Have now been able to get the channels but can no longer record onto the hard drive. It starts for a few seconds then stops. When I can get into title list whole machine gets stuck. Spoke to Sony who advised to download fa software update from their website. Have tried on two computers but "Windows does not recognise" the program! Arrgghhh. Lady I spoke to promised to send me a disc - just hope she does.

Windows wont recognise it.

You have to make it in to a DATA cd. To save you the hassle I have made an ISO image of FIRMWARE 1.70 to download

Free to download, you do not have to sign up

Just burn to CD and folow the instructions on the SONY page

Thank you - will give it a go. If this is the one Sony are recommending we do, why didn't she tell me Windows won't recognise it?! Grrrr!

TBH I don't know. Maybe they assume we all know what to do with the file.

For future reference, this is what I do with NERO

NERO Express>data>data CD>add the file>next>make sure 'disc at once' is selected in the hidden left sidebar>burn

Other burners will be different, but have similar options.
