Sony BDP-S186 aspect ratio problem

Hello!

I have a problem with my BDP-S186 bluray player while watching content from USB.

The media is in widescreen format and intended to be played with black bars, but the player seems to stretch the image to fill the entire screen, therefore distorting the image, how can i stop this from happening ?

Hi there

You need to set your screen settings in the setup menu as follows :

TV Type = 16:9

Screen Format = Original

Aspect ratio = Letter box

Alternatively, adjust settings to your liking

Could it be your TV settings?

Do DVD's/Blu-rays play in the correct aspect?

Have you verified that the video file is in the correct ratio?
