LG Soundbar with Sony TV? (KD55XG8796BU+ SL8YG)

Hey all.

I hope you can help.

I have a new soundbar, the LG SL8YG, and currently, with my TV (49UJ651V) there's a horrible sync issue that I just cannot solve, via optical, or ARC. And to be honest, it's driving me insane. From Googling it seems like it's an issue which LG know about but aren't fixing.

So I'm now thinking...I should just buy a new TV, because why not! My question is, does anyone have a similar setup to me? And is there still likely to be sync issues? I've already sunk a fair chunk of money into the soundbar setup so I really need things to work. It's so frustrating.

Any help, tips or assistance are greatly appreciated
