HELLO JUST BOUGHT SOUNDBAR.CANNOT GET IT TO WORK THROUGH EARC ON BOTH.I HAVE CORRECT HDMI CABLE.IF I CONNECT OPTICAL WITH HDMI I GET IT TO OPERATE.WHAT AM I DOING WRONG.

That's very strange. What happens when you connect it? Is there no sound or does it drop out ?

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

HELLO USING BELKIN LEADS. THIS MAY SOUND STRANGE BUT I DISABLED NETFLIX APP ON TV. NOW SOUNDBAR CONNECTS EVERY TIME TO TV AND I GET SOUND THROUGH SOUNDBAR. BEFORE I DREADED TURNING TV AND SOUNDBAR OFF AS THEY WOULD NOT CONNECT TO EACH OTHER. ALSO HAD NETFLIX APP ON VIRGIN TVO BOX AND IT ALSO STOPPED WORKING. I HAD VIRGIN BOX CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO SOUNDBAR. THE TV WOULD NOT PLAY NETFLIX SOUND ON THIS TV. SONY AF9 4K OLED WITH Earc HDMI.SONY HTST5000 SOUNDBAR WITH Earc HDMI.CONNECTING TV/SOUNDBAR WITH Earc HDMI PORTS.

Hi sotty06,

I'd suggest that you connect everything directly to the TV. The sound in this case should be output directly from your sound bar. Also, Did you make sure of the "Speaker" settings on your TV? They should be set to "Audio system".
