Sony KD-49XG8096 TV won’t turn on

My TV stopped turning on with the remote. I changed the batteries but it still didn’t work, the button on the TV worked so was able to turn it on and then the remote worked.

The next morning, it wouldn’t turn on again, this time even the button on the TV wouldn’t work either.

After some research I did a hard reset which worked and the TV worked perfectly for 48 hours.

However, it is not not turning on again and nothing seems to be working.

The TV is not even 3 years old yet. Has anyone experienced these issues? Does anyone have any ideas of what to do?

Do you have a retailer warranty/guarantee, or a Sony manufacturer’s one, for three years from the date of purchase, or longer?

Because it sounds like a board has failed, and will need replacing.

@HarrietP, I believe this is a hardware related issue, try reaching out to the Sony reps directly to arrange a service
