4k TV

I am a fan of Sony products and would like to move to the new(ish) 4k standard, but the current range seems very expensive. LG has a model (LG 42UB820V) that retails for less than £500 and is in the process of announcing some new models. Can we expect the same from Sony, I wonder?

Unfortunately as far as I am aware, Sony has not released the prices for their 2015 range of TVs. The 4K 2015 model to that of the LG is Sony's KD-43X8305C. Appart from that model, the sizes jump to 49" and 55" (and up) for Sony's 2015 4K range (therefore I would expect an increase in price).

As a personal opinion, Unless you are sitting really close to a 42" 4K TV, you will not see any additional benefits of 4K. Upon saying that though, I have seen some excellent reviews on the LG TV (LG 42UB820V) - especially considering its price (Search the reviews on Amazon).
