SONY 55KDL853 Using only speakers

So I've got my laptop connected to the Bravia using it as extra screen, but when im not using the screen, only speakers I feel im wasting power. Is there a way to turn the screen on standby while yet getting use of the speakers in the stand?

Hi there

The reason you connect a laptop/PC to a TV is for the display (ie bigger, in lounge room etc). Why not purchase a small pair of speakers to add to your laptop instead of using the TV's speakers - as you said, not very economical.
