Hello all, I'm new to the forums, and I'm from Italy
I bought my VAIO a year and a half ago, and had no problem since then.

Sadly, today I had a very bad problem 😞

I was on Internet when suddenly the "brightness" of the screen went to zero. To describe the problem more "technically", it's like the dots weren't being "rear-lighted" anymore. I could still barely see the screen, but the first feeling was that it had gone totally black.
Upon closer examination I noticed the computer hadn't crashed, but only the "screen light" basically turned off.

SO I decided to restart the computer and everything went fine again, but I fear the problem may be happening again very soon. 😞

Some days ago, I think I got the same problem, but for a split second, so I didn't give it a lot of importance.

Has any of you had the same problem? Is the default warranty only a single year, right?

I love my VAIO, but I'd hate to be forced to say that it lasted only a year and a half 😞

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like you will need a new inverter board or LCD backlight
