Hi guys & girls,

I was wondering if it' s ok to have two different brands of memory in my laptop? Does it give problems? And has someone already put more memory in this notebook than sony subscribes the one gig. Hope your reaction on this because I want to order more memory! Please help!!!!!

Hi,

According to CRUCIAL your model will take up to 2048MB of memory (2 X 1GB DDR PC2700). They are prepared to guarantee this will work OK.

You can mix memory as long as it is PC2700 compliant because your two memory slots are not paired and work independently. You can also mix the memory sizes (1 GB + 512 MB) although most PCs do seem to work better with two modules the same.
