Change of Operating system

Dear All,
Can some one help please, i Have bought a new sony vaio,very nice and i like it but the problem is that the documentation is in Germany, i would like to change the system to english,
what should i do????????
if i put another operating system,,will i enjoy the nice sony features?????

Hi Pat and welcome to Club Vaio.

Which model Vaio did you buy? What Operating System is installed? XP Pro and XP MCE have language support.

I presume it is the language of the operating system you are talking about? Or is it just the documentation?

try looking in progam files/ Windows XP MUI Pack. if you have it it could let you change your language to english.
it worked for me on a spanish one. it gave me the option to switch the user interface to english.

hallo my operating system is windows Home edition and in german,

Hi Pat,

I'm afraid XP Home does not have MUI Language support.

The only way to change the OS to English is to buy an English version of XP.

Thank you very much,
have bought the english version yesterday, and the problem is that after installing it, the Network controller is not functioning and cannot manage it on manage drivers option.
can i stay without it coz it cannot reinstall it from recovery cd or what should i do?

Hi Pat,

Have you downloaded the Preinstalled Drivers and the Preinstalled Utilities files from Vaio-Link?

I can't give you a link because I don't know what model Vaio you have.
