Hello to you all

I have a VGN FS315B laptop which is 13 months old and remarkably the hard drive died just a week ago. I'm told its probably of the large amounts of data I am transferring back and fore (music & pictures). A local PC doctor replaced the drive and recovered a lot of the data for me and it sems fine now except I have no sound through the laptop speakers. I do have sound if I use external speakers. Someone told me I have to turn off the external amp (???) .... Does anyone know if this sounds correct, and if so how do I do it?

Would appreciate your help

Many thanks
Laura
