Replacing fan on Z1

Hi,
does anyone have any experience in replacing the fan on a z1? if so i would be appreciative of any help or tips that you could give.

i had my fan replaced for my vgn-bx, sent it off, they replaced, got it back, much quieter.

Are you thinking about getting it sent off? or replacing it yourself?

Not sure exactly which model you have, but you should be able to source the parts from NEXTTRONICS - useful exploded diagram here.

They are in the US but ship worldwide.

Im intent on doing it myself.
ive managed to find a replacement part that im currently waiting on. Just been looking at the exploded diagram and it looks like im gonna have to take the mainboard out cos its screwed in from the bottom up which is unfortunate, just means its gonna be a lot of effort!

Hi Rossmitchel,

If you do decide to replace the fan yourself, it would be really helpful to other Club Vaio members if you could post a guide, including photo's if possible, on the the various steps you took on replacing the fan..

I can only find pictures of a Hard Drive Upgrade for a Z5
