topic Vaio PCG-FR102: Screen flickering in PCs & Accessories

Hello,

I've got a Vaio PCG-FR102 here, bought in spring 2003. I used it quite a lot some years and then it wasn't used at all for two years. Now I've set it up again and it's running quite good but the screen brightness makes strange things. First of all, the bigger part of the time the brightness is somewhere around 70%. But sometimes the screen flickers a bit and then it suddenly has the full brightness for some minutes, then again it flickers and the brightness ends up at those 70%. It looks like a defective contact to me. But I don't know how to repair it. The warranty has ended 2004/2005 so I'll have to make it myself. Please help!

PhotonX

Hi PhotonX,

welcome to Club Vaio..

Unfortunately it could possibly be either a faulty Inverter, backlight bulb or cabling problem..

I think your best bet would be to ask a local repairer to try an establish the exact cause..
