Function Keys dont work

I bought VGN-FZ31Z: Vista home premium recently. To join my office's LAN, the IT department recommended to clean install Vista Enterprise. Now my computer is running Vista Enterprise but the function keys, S1 and AV Mode Keys are not working. In addition, VAIO control center is not also working even after re-installing it again. I am also receiving a message saying "vaio even services are not working". My office's IT department could not do anything so far. Please help.

For some strange reason the utilities required for the function keys are missing from the FZ31 series..

I'm not sure if this will work, but if you want to try, you could try downloading the Preinstalled Utilities for the FZ11Z from Vaio-Link, use the following link: Sony Vaio Support preinstalled Utilities

Normally installing the following, in order, should get your function keys working.

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service
4 Setting Utility Series

Once completed then re-boot your Vaio.

You may have to do this more than once..:smileywink:

Thanks Thalamus. I followed your steps for 5 times now with no success. Will keep trying though I am receiving an error message saying "check battery, remove and re-insert" (not as such exactly).

have you installed the Sony nVidia 7.15R - 7.15.11.128 graphics driver on your vaio.?
