webcam problems

hello everyone

this is my first post here i hope you'll be able to help me with my problem
I have a VGN-FZ11S
when i try using my built in cam on aol or MSN
or just using the camera capture utility i keep getting a message
saying that there is no in-put. OR it says that my camera is in use
with another program and cannot work.

i dont understand this because it isnt in use with anything else.

ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

I hope someone can help and tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Have you installed the VAIO Camera Capture Utility 2.2.03.11150 and VAIO Camera Utility 2.0.02.05140 updates.?

Use the following link then select your model in the drop down list to download the update: Sony Support Downloads

thank you very much for those updates.

however afterward i got a message on both saying
that the program did not install correctly.

bit of a puzzle?????

Hi Dee,

Can you check the following for us please: -

1. Is your camera driver installed properly? Go to Control Panel -> Device Manager. Expand 'Imaging Devices'. Is your Vaio Camera showing as installed and working correctly?

2. What version of 'VAIO Camera Utility' is installed? Go to C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Camera Utility and click on 'Version.txt'.

3. What version of 'VAIO Camera Capture Utility' is installed? Go to C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Camera Capture Utility and click on 'Version.txt'.

4. Have you installed Microsoft Hotfix Package KB931812? It is no longer available for download but I attach it at the bottom of this post.

I Would just like to say thank you to the people
who replyed to my thread.
i think its working okay now, almost.
when i want to use the cam on msn i have to
open msn first before i open any other applications (web pages, aol etc)
thats the only way it works, but at least it does work now.
