VGN-A417S Wireless Mouse

Having just upgraded from my VGN-A417S to my lovely new VGN-AR61ZU, I was wondering if it is possible to use the wireless mouse that came with the former on my new machine. Does anyone know if this is possible or do I have to go for a new bluetooth mouse?

Hi Steve,

The A-Series laptops have a built-in wireless receiver for the VGP-WMS1 wireless mouse and a seperate IR receiver in one of the speakers for the remote control.

Unfortunately, the AR-Series does not have the internal wireless receiver feature. If you really want to use this mouse, you could try to find a Sony USB wireless receiver VGP-WRC1 but realistically a Bluetooth Mouse or a USB Dongle RF Mouse are going to be your best bet.
