AR51J HDD upgrade/addition

Hi is it possible to put another hdd in the AR51J

Since it comes with one 250gb 4,200rpm hdd, where other versions have 2x 160gb hdd's

Does this mean there is a free slot to put in another hdd?

And does it have to be another 4,200 or can it be a faster one?

Wisdom would be much appreciated.

Hi Vealo and welcome to Club Vaio.

You do have space for two 2.5 inch drives in your AR51J but you will need to buy the caddy that the drive will fit into. Your AR51J will not have the fittings to just insert the drive.

In my experience this isn't true. I moved the existing caddy to the second bay, slid an SSD into the first, replaced the cover and installed windows 7. I didn't need a second caddy
