Hi snackiest,

this should work as a temporary solution (I would still recommend that you restart your vaio asap to manually complete the update process)..

Click Start, then click All programs followed by Accessories.

In Accessories Right Click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

In the Command Prompt window (next to C:\windows\system32>) type: net stop “windows update” and then click Enter

Hopefully you should see something similar to the image below appear..

Then close the CMD window.

When you restart your Vaio the windows update service will be restarted and when you next download an update that requires a restart you'll receive the prompt again..
