topic viao updater in PCs & Accessories

hi all,
i am trying to install the new version of the viao updater( version-5)in my laptop VGN-NW26M.Windows 7 OS, pre-installed by sony. But an error message is showing error-5006:0x80030005 has occured while running setup.
what does that mean,how can i resolve it?
please help.

Hi rijo,

welcome to Club VAIO..

Not sure if you have resolved your problem yet but if not try the following..

Click Start followed by control Panel.

In control panel click on Uninstall a program and remove Vaio update.

Once Vaio update has been removed go to Vaio support site and download the latest version of Vaio update.

download the updates from Vaio support..

To open Vaio support, either by clicking Support at the top of this page or use the following link:Vaio support

Under Log-in option 2: Select your VAIO model from the drop down list

Then click Log-In

Once logged select Downloads followed by updates locate Vaio update and follow the installation instructions.

If that doesn't help let us know..

Thanks for the response.
I tried the way you advised.
But the same error remains even if i try to uninstall the programe via control panel.
what to do now,...please help
