Howdy,

Really sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your answers guys, I really appreciate it. I tried installing what you recommended from guru3d but still no chance. One weird thing though, I am falling in a vicious cercle when I try to gain access to http://www.vaio-link.com/os/vista/64bit/ I get back to where I give my model / SN. It just won't go where it is supposed to be.

My problem here brought me far enough and created other ones on the way but I can say I have found a temporary solution by now, but not without a huge effort put into it. But one way or the other, I will eventually have no choice but to install the newest version of forceware from Nvidia (258.x) to be able to use for instance Adobe After Effects 5. I need a compatible Open GL driver, but I am still struggling to find one that will install on a Vaio. Weird enough, I have a Quadro FX4500 in a (oh my God I know how garbage) Dell Precision 690 running on Win7 x64, and everything I download directly from Nvidia just installs fine. It is a rather big OEM workstation, and I can install what I want on it. Why can't I do just that with my Vaio??

Thanks again in advance guys you are the only real valuable support one can get from Sony.

William

Hello everyone,

I feel like I've been looking in every corner of the web to find a solution, but now really I am completely crawling in despair (to say so), though I am slowly becomming agressive . Tried to contact Nvidia, they pushed me to Sony. Tried to contact Sony, they pushed me to Nvidia. Big corporations today only care about one thing and it shows.

So my problem is that I have finally chosen (however at a very bad moment) to upgrade my lovely Vaio (FZ21Z) from virtually the worst thing I have ever seen (Vista x86) to Windows 7 x64. It's been weeks that I am looking for drivers, and until now, it went kinda good. I have invested soooo much time searching for something and it seems like there is just no solutions. That said I consider Sony being voluntarily in the center of this huge mistake.

Lets make it straight: first I would like to challenge anyone on this forum about this thing. Let say I bet 9 out of 10 people in here will think I am trying to fool them, but those who already tried, already know how hard.

The challenge is simply to be able to install a new Nvidia graphic driver on a Vaio, with a Win7 fresh install.

I am eagerly waiting to see what will come up here. Anyway, thanks for your time... I am hoping so much to find a solution to this enigmatic case that any help would be great!

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Shake -
