Line in on RA104

I am the owner of a Vaio
RA104 and up till now I am not able to record via the line in on both front and back of the PC. It only works when I make use of Giga Pocket's Video rear or front option turned on.
I am using CoolEdit 2000 to record and I have really tried everything as far as I know.
Can someone help me ?

Did you install all the RealTek utilities from the DVD?

Thnx, but the only thing I can find is te Realtek Sound Manager. I cannot find any utilities. I also searched Realtek website for this.

When you plug in the line source does a popup apear asking you the source of the line?

No, this only happens when I plug in a headphone. Yesterday evenening I find out that indeed this should also happen when I plug in the line source. Perhaps the best thing to do is to re-install all the Realtek stuff again or to delete the soundcard and let it be found again by Windows ?

Make a System Restore Point under Windows XP, so you can at least turn back the clock if your computer doesn't work as expected.

Also remember you have the Driver Rollback feature in Windows XP too.

Yeah reinstall the realtek software.

I did everything I can possibly think of but my RA104 still refuses to recognize my line in.
What else can I do ?

Yeah I agree with Rich, uninstall the card and try rebooting.

Sorry guys for not replying earlier but I had some serious problems getting the sound on my RA104 work again after I deleted something.
I am not able to delete the soundcard in the device manager because there is not any, it is an onboard soundcard.
The problem with the lin in remains.................

It should still be listed in Device manager as 'Audio Controller', under Sound, Video and Game Controllers.

It is listed as "Realtek High Definition Audio"
