Upgrading DvD Writer on RZ424???

Anyone know if its possible to upgrade either of the DvD drives on my RZ424 with one of the new Dual Layer Recorders. Having not ever had the need to take apart my VAIO I don't know if the drives fit the same way as normal midi towers.

If anyone has done this please let me know which drive to go for?

Having ripped apart my my RZ502 I can tell you that they take bog standard IDE DVD drives, behind the flaps, which I transferred to a generic tower.

As to recommendations for a new drive I will have to pass you over to others.

I suggest looking at the NEC drives are they're pretty decent

They are OK, but with so many people complaining about them, and I've had good experiences with NEC writers I thought I'd share my findings

Good News - bought the Sony 810A and it fits a treat - now I have 2 DVD burners in the m/c. Thanks everyone that responded.
