Having just purchased XL 201, waiting for HDTV, plugged RGB leads into existing plasma. The windows being displayed were too big for 42" screen!!, so I decided to change the resolution size. I now have a blank TV screen, the computer is on, but I can't see anything, hence I can't change the resolution back. Is there an idiots guide to changing everything back to default that doesn't involve looking at the screen, or loading a recovery disk that I haven't done yet as its only 4 days old.

Hi Kirky59 and welcome to Club Vaio.

Try opening your Vaio in Safe Mode. This will use a default 640 X 480 screen driver which will allow you to see the desktop and re-set your screen resolution.

When you turn your Vaio on and see the first screen with the Vaio logo, tap F8 repeatedly to open the startup options screen. Select Safe Mode with the up/down arrow keys and press enter.

Change your screen resolution back and reboot the Vaio.
