Problem with dvd burning

Hi All

I have just purchased my new pcg-k415b vaio laptop. The only problem i seem to be having is every time i try and use my burner i get an error message. Either it asks for a new disc due a problem with the disc ie. scratches or finger print or it says try another manafacturer.
Has anyone got any ideas what might be the problem. Its not even letting me make a back up disc at the moment.

I have the same laptop and had similar problems. I resolved this buy buying official Sony DVD-R disks. I didnt try with DVD+R sony disks though. The disks i was originally using were Packard Bell DVD+R's which the machine just spat out in disgust. Hope this helps.
