Vaio keeps restarting on its own...

I bought my laptop just over a year ago and for the past few weeks I've been having some problems with it...

I'll be in the middle of doing my work or something and it will suddenly restart on its own, with no warning given. Consequently I end up losing some of my work so it's quite annoying.

When it restarts it does so in the usual way (like with the vaio logo, asks you to log in, also asks if i want to start windows normally or safe mode before asking to log in). It happens quite a few times throughout the day.
My brother and I have done virus scans but there doesnt seem to be any viruses. Any idea what the problem could be and how to fix it? Thanks for your help

Hi elephant91,

Have you checked CPU and GPU temperature with a utility such as PC Wizard ? If not, do so and let us know temperatures prior to auto shut down.
