I've just bought a S4XP, but the wireless connection seems quite unstable. It keeps fluctuating between 12 and 54Mbps, even when the laptop is right next to the access point. My friends laptop shows a constant 54Mbps at the same spot.

What should I do? I've upgraded the Wireless LAN driver to the 27 Sept 05 version.

Thanks.

Thanks for the useful post: I have a similar problem with the internal WLAN card on my FS285M. The speed just dwindles over time! Funny how every other wireless computer in the house works fine - and if I put a PCMCIA WiFi card in my VAIO(actually 'b' type) everything works fine!! Have re-installed the latest driver etc. I also have a Netgear wireless router/modem. I think this is a bug that definitely deserves Sony's attention since the whole idea is for a portable, self-contained laptop. Has anyone cracked this problem?
