Dear All, I have just purchased a new vaio vgn-b3vp. I have bought some dvds to watch, but I am having problems. Firstly, they would not play at all with intervideo windvd 5 (supplied) or vaio zone software (vaio zone would ask for a password, I never set a parental control password to begin with, but even after setting one up and entering it, I still couln't play the dvd). I decided to dowload intervideo windvd7, and it played several programmes on the dvd (a Seinfeld dvd), but only the first two, I have tried other disks, and also returned the disks to the store and exchanged them in case it was a problem with the disks but the same happens. I have downloaded all the updates, but am still finding problems. I have never had a sony product before, nor any kind of dvd player and am quite inexperienced. I have written to e-support for help but had no response. Would be very grateful for any help from the forums. Thanks.

Seinfeld, good choice!

Strange isn't it? One player will play it, another won't
I suggest cleaning the lens with one of those DVD lens cleaners
