Hi, I have an old camcorder Sony Digital 8 DCR-TR7000E/TR7100E.

I want to digitalize my old tapes that are 8mm Hi8 HG.
I have bought a USB Video Capture Device so that I can transfer it to my pc, but whenever I play a video through my camcorder the screen keeps going blue or showing something wierd 50% of the time.

Any idea of how I can do to minimize dataloss?

Should I somehow try to clean/rinse the camera or should I get another camera to transfer from?

The video grabber probably uses a component cable.

If you get a signal when connecting said cable to your TV, you should get a signal when you connect it to your grabber.

If that is not the case, then your video grabber is probably broken.
